Where do we start with bedbugs! Bedbugs don't really cause any harmful disease, apart from itching and bites which do go away after a short time. It's more the fact that we just don't want them sharing your bed, or your childrens bed, or your guests bed if you own accommodation like a hotel or guest house.

People rarely see bedbugs, they are just aware that they are 'there'. Adults grow to 4–5 mm in length and 1.5–3 mm wide. Newly hatched nymphs are translucent, lighter in colour and become browner as they moult and reach maturity. Bedbugs lay sticky eggs that are transported to new locations on the unknowing victims clothes and as such they are not necessarily a sign of a dirty house, anyone can unwittingly provide the transport for a bedbug.
